Mala Making Workshop in Bali
A meaningful journey from intention to creation.
Create a Mala with meaning, designed by you and brought to life through the traditional skills of our Mala Elements artisans.
Browse our intention cards to help you consider what you would like your Mala to represent and what you may wish to invite into your life. Each intention connects with a curated selection of natural stone beads chosen for their traditional energetic and metaphysical properties.
You can arrive with a clear purpose or simply remain open to the materials and meanings that resonate with you.
Settle in at the design table and explore the extensive selection of stone beads. Choose according to colour, texture, crystal meaning, chakra association or simply what draws your attention.
Guided by Ayu, you’ll begin laying out your Mala one bead at a time, adjusting the placement until the design feels beautifully balanced and personal to you.
This is a slow, absorbing process that gives you time to switch off from everything else and focus completely on what’s in front of you.
String & Finish
Once your design is complete, Ayu will guide you through stringing your Mala in the correct sequence.
Your piece will then be entrusted to our skilled female artisans, who will complete it using traditional hand-knotting techniques. This precise process takes place after the workshop, allowing each bead to be individually knotted and your Mala to be finished with the care it deserves.
Wear & Remember
Your completed Mala will be ready within 24–48 hours and will be delivered to your accommodation. Beautifully finished with your chosen tassel, it will arrive with your personalised intention card and drawstring pouch.
Wear it, use it during quiet moments or keep it close as a reminder of the intention you chose in Bali.
